Purple Pinkie Day

Purple Pinkie Day is an annual event organized by Rotary Clubs to support Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate polio. Purple Pinkie Day is observed around October 24th which is World Polio Day. The Monteagle-Sewanee Rotary Club participates in this annual fundraiser by partnering with Dunkin’ Donuts to sell Purple Pinkie donuts. The funds raised through these efforts are used to support the PolioPlus program, which vaccinates millions of children each year. Donations from Purple Pinkie Day activities are matched by organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which significantly increases the impact of fundraising efforts. In 2025, Rotary District 6780 has raised over $195,000 for PolioPlus.
